Remember back when we were small,
and playgrounds were made of dirt and wood,
and fairytales and dreams, and contained only by the farthest edges of our imaginations?
It's like a time machine when I take the kids here, and it's quiet and secluded.
And we can enjoy the hot summer morning before the sun swelters the earth with playing hard and running and watching the horses eat their hay as we swing.
And catching grasshoppers in the tall grass,
finding locust skins in the trees, and decorating our shirts like soldiers coming home from war with badges and metals of honor and pride.
It's here that we find summer, and all its wonder.
I had the best day with you today.
Thank you, sweet children of mine :)Pin It
