Well...that was fast.

Well, he didn't even let me get another post in before he did it again.
It was a fierce faceplant this time, right there on the sidewalk outside Pier1. Pier One! The land of all things good! Except soft sidewalk, that is.
It was devistating.
This poor face cannot take much more, as we now have added a scraped forehead, scratched nose, and bloody lip to the black eye.
 But, we are tough.
Because we are 110% boy.
(except that little bit o' momma's graceful faceplanting ways).
 It's sad isn't it?
That cute little face all covered in wounds.
:(

So today before we ventured off to OWL Olympics camp, we stopped by the lake and had the most wonderful {imaginary} picnic there ever was!
Our menu consisted of:
A sandwhich
An apple (you could have it whole or sliced)
An ice cream cone (any wonderful flavor you desired - mine was pink mint)
Rice (well, of course)
and a hungerber.
You surely are feeling sad that you missed this grand meal, but I can share with you the view I had:
 The best!
I wish i could post here the breeze that came off the lake. It was nice and cool, which was welcome on this hot morning of imaginary picnicking. And the toothy smile that laughed in the sun when my ice cream scoop fell off too many times. And the absolute love that I feel when I see this little boy happy and healthy and banged up, but safe. And the prayers of thanksgiving that emit from the very depths of my soul that I am here in this very moment. With this very child. On this very day. Eating this very pink mint ice cream cone over and over.
Because if even ONE thing was different oh so many years or months or weeks or days ago, it might not have come to pass.
But our winding, uphill, rocky, sometimes so forlorn-looking path that God has laid out for us is full of suprises and blessings that can only be really realized in moments like these.
Moments that make your cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much.
Moments that make you feel like you're the luckiest person in the world, even when someone looking in may see only trials and tribulation.

Matthew 5:2-12Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
