Judging from the emails you all had sent, I must have left you hanging on the blizzard! Sorry about that!
"Snowmageddon 2011" did, in fact, come to our house. With it came about a foot of snow, in some places the drifts are up to 3 or 4 feet! The winds were so bad yesterday morning that it felt like a thousand tiny needles were being thrown into your face all at once.
In the afternoon, it stopped snowing, and the wind had died down a bit, so Emma & I headed out to shovel a couple tire tracks down the driveway.
It got cold fast, and we headed in after about half an hour.
This morning the sun was shining, the snow was glistening, and it looked gorgeous. We risked a trip outside and got to play for a short time before our toes were numb and cheeks were red. It was still pretty cold out. (The high today is, I believe, 11 degrees!)
Now, I have to say, I snapped this picture on our way in, after I realized that this was the only photo I'd have of Evan in the blizzard aftermath! He had already stripped off his hat and hoods.
(Hang up! DHS does NOT need to hear about a child in a blizzard with no head cover! Ha ha!)

All in all, we are safe and warm, and we survived. There was no power outage here, and we've had a warm roasting fire going the whole time, snapping and popping away.
It's times like these that I realize how very blessed we are that we have such a nice home, wonderful, concerned friends and family, and warm furnaces and beds.
Count those blessings, folks! That, alone, warms up the soul!
