Speaking on Greatness

Emma was chosen yesterday to write and read a statement about Martin Luther King, Jr. in "opening" at school. "opening" is when the student body and staff come together every morning for the flag salute, thought of the day, moment of silence, singing, etc. The morning meeting.
She did very well. I was really proud of her. I know a lot of children this age do not know what people of any race had gone through to become as "equal" as they are today. Thankfully, our children are growing up in a less racial time, though we still have a long way to go. Thank goodness for Ms. Allen teaching her class about him. I heard the kids in her class were the only ones who raised their hands when Principal Rains asked who knew something about Martin Luther King, Jr.
Well done, Ms. Allen's class!!
