Something Smells Fishy...

...and it could be trout! We went to the Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery on Wednesday. It was really cool! The trout are hatched, raised, and bred here in the hatchery! Did you know you can milk a trout?!? It's true! Emma & LaurenRiding the giant bullfrog outside the hatchery! I was happy to see this guy outside, because frogs are my favorite wet creatures and rainbow trout are Emma's. (Have you ever known anyone who actually sleeps with a stuffed trout?!?)Emma throwing some trout food in one of the troughs. The fish go nuts for the food! They are packed in like sardines! Here is Emma, following the worker around. He was scooping out the dead fish and doing other fishy upkeep. She was asking so many questions that he finally told her that the next tour was going to start in 10 minutes. Ha ha! That's my girl! Can you see the trout swimming about?Look at the fish going crazy at Emma's feedings! The view from the hatchery is the big dam. Remember that. It'll come in handy for the other blogs coming to follow...
The hatchery was fun (and free!) Emma's favorite part: The baby fish!
